Dironec just finished the Electronic Press Kit (EPK) of Dutch jazz fusion group Captain Hook. This short video consists of an interview combined with material of their album played in the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
Captain Hook first hit the Dutch music scene in 2005 with their debut album, ‘Hooked Up’. Now, with the release of their third album ‘Plunge’, the captain is one of the most recognizable jazz fusion groups in the Netherlands.Their contemporary sound, catchy melodies and groovy beats all have their roots in jazz, but are sugarcoated with a rock and funky flavor. The use of electronic effects, hammond organ and fender rhodes brings to mind the sound of The Headhunters and Weather Report and even Zappa, some might reminisce. Captain Hook played numerous festivals, mainly in the Netherlands, but also in Belgium and Germany. They aired on several national radio-programs and appeared on dutch television.
